History of Hospice
The modern understanding of Hospice includes palliative care for the incurably ill and the elderly including a peaceful death in the home.

Veterinarians have been hospice givers to animals for many many years, alleviating their pain and suffering with medications, diets and procedures, in the last months of their life. Veterinarians have been hospice workers as part of our profession since it began. Now, as we enter 2012, it is time to take hospice care to the final conclusion which is a peaceful end in the home with love and compassion.
